4 Paws Pantry

Keeping pets in their homes is our number one goal.

If you are having financial difficulties, 4 Paws Pantry  may be able to help!
The 4 Paws Pantry is a program of the Humane Society of Yuma (HSOY) that seeks to help families provide food for their pets on a temporary basis.

In order to be considered for assistance, you must:

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Have a picture ID with your current address.
  • Want to help?

The 4 Paws Pantry is calling for puppy and dog food in preparation for this Wednesday's pet food distribution for needy families to help them keep their pets. Donation drop off locations are as follows. HSOY, HSOY Thrift shop, HSOY Spay/Neuter Clinic, Starbucks 24th. & B (not inside Albertson's), Starbucks Big Curve and Starbucks Yuma Palms.

  • List the names of all household members.
  • Agree to fill out a new application if you move or the number of pets in your household changes.
  • Understand the food provided is donated and that it may not be your current brand, therefore, your pet(s) could get an upset stomach due to the introduction of a new food to their diet.
  • Agree that by receiving food from the 4 Paws Pantry, you will give food or a monetary donation back to the Pet Food Bank when you are able.
  • Because food is limited, the program should supplement your monthly pet food supply; not be the sole source of food for pets.

Membership Terms

Food for the program is donated to the HSOY by the generosity of our community; therefore, we cannot guarantee that food is always available. Pet food amounts will be determined by the weight of your animals.

  • Proper identification will be required each time food is picked up.
  • Members must be a full-time resident of the Yuma community.
  • By becoming a member of the program, you agree to have your pet(s) spayed/neutered within two months of joining the program. If cost is a factor, we can help. Just ask. Please bring proof from your veterinarian of the spay/neuter of your pet(s) to your first visit.
  • The member cannot acquire more animals, either by taking in more animals or allowing current animals in the home to breed, while enrolled in the 4 Paws Pantry program.
  • Food will be provided for up to three animals. If you have more than three animals, you can choose which three to receive food for on a monthly basis.
  • Monthly food pick-up is from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. the last Wednesday of the month as long as food is available. It is advised you call the 4 Paws Pantry hotline, 782-1621, Ext. 350, for additional information each month. If you miss the scheduled distribution date, you will have to wait until the next month. Food will not be distributed at any other time during the month.
  • Food is provided on a first-come, first-served basis and is not guaranteed. If you are unable to attend a distribution, please list an approved alternate pick-up person on your application. That person will be required to present their Arizona ID/Driver's License at the time of check in.
  • You must bring a container (i.e. box, bucket or bag) to each distribution.
  • Please bring a container that can be sealed to keep the food fresh.
  • Again, please do not bring your pets with you on distribution days.
